Welcome to the Nursery

The teachers in our nursery for 2020/21 are Mrs Sagan (Mon. Tues.) and Mrs Bolger (Wed.Thurs. Fri).  Other members of staff are Mrs Reilly, Mrs Maguire, Mrs Lewis and Mrs. Storey  (Thurs).

On the following pages we will tell you all about the activities we have organised this year. As the year goes on we will gradually build up the pages with lots of useful information.
You will also find useful information on how to help your child with their learning on the 'Support your Child' page of the website.

Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games, and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites!

Fine Motor Ideas. Many of these can be made with items you have at home.

Phonics.

We have been covering Phase 2 in Nursery.

These can be found online. Search for Jolly Phonics In Order.

This will give you the sounds in the order we have been doing at school. Make it fun and keep it short and snappy!

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

On the 19th of June we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Our school is the Sacred Heart School so this feast is particularly special for all of us.

Jesus loves us so much that his heart is on fire with love and forgiveness.

In Nursery we have learned our special Sacred Heart prayer:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you,

Most Sacred heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you,

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you,

Amen.

It would be lovely if you could say this prayer with your family on the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

We also have a picture of the Sacred Heart for you to colour.

First of all think about all the things that you love about Jesus and talk to your family about them.

Then think about all the things that Jesus loves about you....this will be a long list as you are so lovely!

Finally, draw a picture of you in Jesus' heart and colour in the picture. You can take a photo of it and put

it on Early Essence so we can see it.

We have made a video on Early Essence for you telling you about the Sacred Heart and showing you how

to make a lovely heart for this special feast day. Have fun!

`Get Talking ` advice for parents

A useful document produced by the Hillingdon Speech and Language Service to support schools and families. It has lots of ideas suggesting how to improve your child's speaking and listening skills.

Letter Sounds and the Reading Scheme

Some information to help you and your child learn the letter sounds, and what they need to know to get on the Reading Scheme.

Early Years profile

This Profile shows the progress Nursery and Reception children should make during the Foundation Stage at school. By the end of Reception each child should be achieving the ELG's (Early Learning Goals).
